Lita attended Bolton Art College when she left school, but although her tutors encouraged her to do a fine art degree she did not pursue a career in art. Motherhood, a science degree in psychology and then a job in accountancy took over. However in the late nineties Lita picked up a 3b pencil again - to draw a scene to fill a blank picture frame for her mother's birthday - and it has all gone on from there. She works mainly with acrylics on canvas or board and paints urban and country landscapes. "A place or image must move me in some way" she says, "it is a right hemisphere thing and difficult to put into words"
