Inspired by the British countryside my work often incorporates the flora and fauna of our countryside and the openness of the land beyond. I work from art studios in Headingley, Leeds where I was born. I had a love of drawing and painting from an early age, and thanks to the encouragement of my parents I was given the tools to experiment with a variety of mediums and the inspiration from our regular visits to the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. My love of nature and art continued after leaving school, and I knew that was where I would like my future to lead. So at the age of 20 I trained as a Surface Pattern Designer and Colourist at Leeds College of Art gaining a Btec Diploma. I then spent some time specializing in floral painting at Stockport College of Art and Design. After finishing my studies I decided I would put my artistic career on hold and raise a family. Finding the time again to paint in earnest, I found myself in the position to paint professionally in 2006. My work has continued to grow in popularity and I now have collectors of my work in the UK and beyond.
